Jason lowered his head and cocked at an eyebrow at Skye's unsatisfactory answer, and was just about to retort with some acerbic reply when her phone went off, indicating a text message. When she would see it, the phone would be flickering strangely, though she would still thankfully be able to read the message well enough. When she put the phone down, it was almost like she was a different girl, suddenly all focused and straight-forward. Jason leaned back in his bench seat somewhat, allowing her to scrutinize him as she did, now suddenly with a notebook in hand. She asked a question of him, asking him his opinion of the school, what he did and didn't like about it. Jason bit his lip, having to think of only ONE thing he didn't like about school, before he finally decided on an answer.
"You wanna know what I don't like? This whole 'fitting in' business. It kinda seems like if you want friends, or if you wanna skate by in school, you've gotta be able to find friends or have people just like you, who think like you. It's a stupid pack mentality, and it makes people forget who and what they really are. Personally, I don't WANT to have to hide who I am."
Jason cut himself off, realizing he was going into a bit of a tangent. Regardless, Skye told him what she thought of him, with a little smirk, and Jason couldn't help but smirk. If Jason didn't know any better, he'd swear this girl was coming on to him.
"Oh really? Well it's good to know I'm bad enough for you. The question is, are you bad enough to be able to run with ME?" he asked confidently, grinning widely. The challenge was set to the freshman, and time would tell whether she rose up to it. Jason was confident that she would.
