Lilith smiling and taking the whole thing so well quickly soothed Kurt's bashfulness, and he slowly started to smile himself. a little nervously at first, but he was easily excitable himself, so hers bled over to him quite swiftly. Especially when she teleported too. Lilith was the first person he'd met with the same powers as him, and they drew a woop of pleased surprise from the young man. Even if he was immediately slightly jealous that hers didn't stink as much as his did. Even if the cloud did make or an impressive entrance. "That's so awesome!" He exclaimed, also forgetting that someone might overhear them.
The hairier comment dampened Kurt's spirits though, he was sensitive about that, especially when expressed that way. It made the fur sound more negative than it already was. and if anything, it burned more from another mutant, especially one he had been pleased to meet a second ago. Still, Kurt tried to ignore it, even if he couldn't prevent his smile rom getting a little strained. "Heh, yeah, I guess." The young mutant continued lamely.
With that little damper, he was feeling less forthcoming, and the X-Men were supposed to be a secret. Especially Doctor McCoy, whose need for privacy Kurt of all people could empathize with. "Uh, a friend made it for me.* He replied evasively.

Lilly's smile faded a bit when she saw that she insulted him. "S-sorry...I didn't meen to..." She was just so used to mutants being so proud of themselfs, Even Lilly was proud of her physical mutation. "...I meen, I think you look pretty cool...."
After a moment or two she shook her head bit as if shaking the negativ thoughts out of her head. "Anyways, does that nifty little thing actually give the time? I meen, with all it can do I'm sure it does. Just that I promised mom I'd be home by 7 and I was hoping to get some dinner before I got in...Mom's been experimenting with cooking and it's less then great." She said with a slight shy smile, scratching the tip of one of her ears.
Considering it wasn't even close to looking dark yet She had to assume it was barely 5 or 6, but a conformation of that would be nice. "Umm, I'd need a moment to change...But would you like to get a burger or something? My treet..." She offered with a smile, still scratching the tip of her ear, obviously a bit nervious.

Following after that hairy comment, any praise of Kurt's look sounded insincere to his ears. Which wasn't any fault of Lilith's, but rather Kurt's insecurities filtering what he heard. Still, he forced a smile, it wasn't in his nature to confront people, even when he thought they were just trying to save his feelings. "Thanks." He muttered wanly, it was pretty obvious he didn't believe her.
His image inducer did function as a watch, so that at least was no problem. "It's quarter to five." Even if his feelings were hurt, Kurt still tried to be at least polite. Though right now he was tempted to just find an excuse and leave, go off somewhere where he could shake off the blues. It was really only that she seemed uncertain herself that kept Kurt from leaving.
Which meant the young man was also extremely sure about an invite to get a burger. That kind of thing didn't happen often, and usually he would have leaped at the chance. Right now though, he wasn't in the mood so much. But on the other hand, he really had a hard time saying no. "I dunno." Kurt muttered insecurely. He couldn't think of a good reason to say no apart from his own insecurities. She'd alreay apologized, so it felt awkward to give that as a reason. In the end Kurt just sort of trailed off and left that comment hanging.

Lilly let out a soft sigh when she heard the tone of Kurt's voice in his answer. She pushed her long brown bangs out of her face only to have them fall right back where they were. "Kurt, I'm really very sorry, the last thing I intended to do was insult." She explained as she looked into Kurt's unusual eyes attempting to show him she really meant it.
After a moment or two she realized she was looking to his eyes possibly a bit longer then she should be...Her eyes at that point slowly moved their way up to the clouds, slowly as to not make it look like she was either avoiding looking at him or anything of the such. "You should really learn to look at the good in things. There's always something..." She paused, her eyes traveling away from the sky, back to Kurt. "Otherwise, what's the point?" She added with a smile.
"Anyway, I'd really like to buy you a burger...Please?" She then remembered there were such things as vegetarians in this world and with a half playful smile added on, "Tofu burger?... If they have something like that at Bayville Burger anyways..."

Though he was tempted to just bamf out and leave, Kurt had just met a new mutant, so he was curious enough to stick around. He wasn't any good at staying mad either, especially not since now even his epic insecurity wasn't enough to convince him that she didn't mean the apology. and having missed lunch, a burger did sound pretty good.
Just not the way she suggested it, the idea of tofu made Kurt pull a disgusted face. "Euch! No tofu! That's baaad stuff."
Smiling a little bashfully, the young man nodded slowly. "Okay, let's go get a burger."

Lilly just laughed with a bright smile. "Ok, no tofu." She agreed, obviously amused. And quite glad to hear it....her foster mother made her try tofu quite a few times....one of the reasons she perferes to eat dinner out these days..."Just give me one second, ok?" She said before dissapearing from sight.
A few minutes later she returned wearing a pair of tight blue jeans and a purple t-shirt, making the athletic tape that was around her wrists and arms all day really stick out, especially considering the fact she wasn't wearing her track uniform anymore... One thing to see someone participating in, just coming from or going to some kind of athletic activity wearing athletic tape, anotherthing entirely to see it on a girl in regular street coths. The tape looked like it was holding some kind of bandage in blace, but no blood to show it was anything even remotely new or severe.
"So, Bayville Burger then?" She asked with the same friendly smile.

By the time Lilith returned, Kurt had readjusted his image inducer and looked entirely human again. He was leaning against the wall next to the exit with his hands in his pockets when Lilith walked out, though he quickly pushed himself off and fell into step with her. The athletic tape drew his curiosity, she could probably tell from the way he looked at it. But it took until they were walking out of the grounds for him to actually come out and ask. "Why are you still wearing the tape?" The young man asked her curiously. It seemed like an innocent enough question, so apart from the hesitance to actually open his mouth, Kurt was relatively direct.
"Did you get hurt or something?" Not having used the stuff, the young mutant wasn't entirely sure what it was for. But it looked close enough to a bandage that he felt compelled to ask, just to make sure it wasn't that.

Lilly glanced down to her taped up arms when she heard Kurt's question. "Oh, not exactly...My passion is archery." She explained as she gestured towards the parking lot, prefering to drive rather then use her teleporting abilities in public. "And when you're shooting the recoil of the drawstring tends to snap at your arms...So to prevent getting hurt I wear the tape." She explained with a smile.
"It stays on so that I can stay used to the feel of it, and to save tape...I'd use a heck of alot if I put new tape on every time I picked up my bow." She added as she looked up to Kurt's more human appearance, running her fingers through her long brown hair.
"So, you don't have to answer, but you're not from around here are you?" She asked as she turned, walking backwards to face him. "I meen, I don't meen to offend, but I definitely hear an accent in your voice." An accent that she liked very much. As she asked her eyes were on his, amazed that not even a hint of his original color showev through the image progected around him.

Kurt wandered along next to Lilith, content to follow her lead. he didn't have a car and couldn't drive, so he'd just have walked over to the mall. If he had been alone he'd have probably found a quiet corner to teleport from, but he was so used to hanging with non-teleporters that the thought that they could both hop over didn't occur to him.
Hands in his pockets, the young man looked curiously at her arms and then up at Lilith when she spoke. He didn't quite meet her eyes though, he was a bit too shy for prolonged eye contact with someone who was still a stranger.
Her hobby sounded pretty cool, and even had he not said anything, Kurt's expression made it pretty clear he thought so. "That's cool. I tried it once, but I couldn't even hit the target right." With his good hand-eye coordination, Kurt was pretty accurate when it came to throwing things, but the one time he'd tried archery it hadn't gone well. and he'd gotten thwacked by the string, so he could see the benefit in the tape.
The question about his origins put Kurt on the back foot just a little, he didn't really like to think about his past. But since it was just the question of his accent, he can get by with a vague answer. "Oh I grew up in Germany. I've only been in the US like three years now."

She couldn't help but laugh at Kurt's reaction to her hobby as she unlocked her car, offering Kurt a ride by opening the passenger door. "Well, if you want I could teach you...I promise all it is, is a matter of practicing." She offered with a smile as she tossed her keys in her hand.
"What's it loke over there?" She asked sounding very interested as she got into the car. "I've always wanted to see Europe." She added with a dreamy look in her eyes.
(sorry it's not longer, I'm kinda rushed here)

"Nice ride!" To Kurt, who didn't have a car but wanted one, any sort of car was a nice ride. Provided it had the right number of wheels and didn't look too trashed that was. Hopping into the passenger seat he automatically went for the seat belt. Yet another piece of sense that had been hammered into him by the Professor.
"Learning archery would be cool. I dunno if I have time though." Kurt gave the girl an apologetic look. The offer was cool, and Kurt liked the idea, but he had enough training to do allready with all the X-Men stuff. The same reason why he wasn't in any of the clubs.
"I've only ever been in the south of Germany, and it's really different to here. america is a lot cooler." There were a few reasons why Kurt thought so, strip malls and a lack of lynch mobs being the main ones.
