His buddies and him... She had the feeling that there was more to that with how he was acting. She had as many secrets as the next person. She had even avoided a couple of questions already in this conversation alone so she had no place to pry. But given her experiences, she couldn't help but to be unsettled inside even if she knew she was being a hypocrite about it.
"Plenty have and would do it."
She replied to his comment about who would pass someone who was hurt, with the simple facts. He probably already knew that there were at least some who would do such a thing but Lorili had the feeling that he hadn't really seen just how common of a thing it was. It seemed to upset him though, the concept of it. She guessed she was a bit desensitized to such things seeing how she wasn't the slightest bit off put. But then again, she had become desensitized to a lot, hadn't she?
"I wouldn't know." Lorili told him when he got to speaking about a friendship with her being alright were she interested.
"I don't feel you're an enemy."
Which was a good thing because if she had, there would be a lot more blood spilled tonight than there already had been and they wouldn't be holding this conversation.

It was true, a lot of people had and would walk past, he'd experienced it himself. But that didn't make it right and Kurt wouldn't accept that kind of thing as normal. It was people like that who made it so important to have the X-Men.
The fuzzy mutant cocked his head to the side and looked a little confused when she said he wasn't an enemy. What did she mean by that? It was a really weird way to phrase it to Kurt's mind, of course he wasn't an enemy. But she made it sound like it was a concession of some sort. and why wouldn't she know if he was a friend? "Uhh, okay." He finally said, not really knowing what else to say. "That's a start." He added brightly, following a spur of the moment impulse.

She found herself smiling back some when he had smiled after telling her that it was a start. As soon as she realized this though, she quickly stopped, the smile vanishing much more suddenly than it had crept up on her and her expression returning to normal. She didn't smile. It just wasn't something that she did. Lorili couldn't remember the last time she had smiled and meant it. The closest she had come to one was a hint of a hint of one and even then, those were far and few. She had smirked plenty of times. It made for a good psyche out tactic in a fight. The more someone seemed to enjoy the thought of death being in the air, the more unsettled the opponent usually became.
Lorili grabbed up the bottle of water again and took a final sip, finishing the water off. She then just thought for a moment before turning her visible eye on Nightcrawler once more. Then, she took another moment to study him a bit, trying to figure him out. He had to be the oddest persons he had ever come across. But then again, it wasn't like she really interacted with many people outside of a violent setting either.
"What makes you be like that?" She asked, genuinely curious.
Did he live that sheltered of a life where he could be that carefree? There was a serious side to him, she had spotted it more than once... but he seemed to be able to flip into a optimistic nature all too easily.
"Never mind." She added soon after, shaking her head.
If he answered her question, there was a good chance that he might ask her one of his own and she wasn't sure on if she'd accept that with as open arms as he might accept hers.
"Yes... a start."

It was probably good that Trade said to never mind about that first question, because judging by Kurt's expression he didn't know what she meant, let alone how to answer it. This girl was weird and confusing, even more so than other girls. But still, having seen her lying there in that puddle of blood, Kurt couldn't help but feel for her. Especially when he got her to smile, it didn't look like that happened too often for her. It pleased Kurt to no end that he'd managed that.
"Sure, a good one too!" He replied in a return to his optimism. Grinning broadly he looked at the drink bottle in her hand and remembered his manners. "Hey, you want more to drink? Or something to eat? I can make you a killer fuzzy dude special sandwich."

"Sure, a good one too!"
She was watching him again, her hands wrapped around the bottle some as she thought for a moment. It seemed real. His reaction, that is. It seemed completely genuine with no hint of hidden malice or signs of him plotting to do cruel things to her. But could she believe it?.. Well, he had saved her. Not once, but twice... And he hadn't asked for anything in either occasion besides a thanks when she had asked him what he might want. Her eyes burned slightly for a second but she got a hold of herself. She got control of herself before they could even get glassy.
"Hey, you want more to drink? Or something to eat? I can make you a killer fuzzy dude special sandwich."
He hadn't poisoned her or drugged her. He hadn't taken advantage of her that she could tell while she had been unconscious. All he had done was.... look out for her. Help her... She'd pay him back. Lorili would make sure of it. Whether he wanted her to or not. She wanted to decline the further help but if she didn't eat and drink, she'd be in bad shape for longer than she needed to be. She would be putting herself into unnecessary danger... Lorili gave a small nod even if it was a little hesitant.

"Sweet! Be right back!" Kurt exclaimed and vanished in a cloud of smoke. It seemed he wasn't terribly worried about leaving her alone in his room.
Five minutes later he reappeared with a big smile and two plates piled high with enormous sandwiches. The fuzzy dude special required that most of the contents of the fridge be raided, so they were not sandwiches Kurt could make every day. But making a new friend and feeding a starving mutant were both special occassions, so he reckoned this once it was fine.
"Ta-daa" The young man exclaimed and held out one of the plates to Trade with a flourish that had him grinning exuberantly and standing on one leg. "Dig in! You'll love, I promise."

Again, his excitement surprised her... Or was it amazed her? She hadn't come across anyone like him before and she wondered how many there were like him. She wasn't even thinking about his looks either. It was his personality. In fact, his actions and his ways had her forgetting about his physical difference for a moment.
She wrinkled her nose slightly as he disappeared in a puff of smoke that reminded her of sulfur. Then, after waving her hand a little to clear the air a little, she reached into her pocket and pulled out the money she first reached. He wouldn't take it... Even if it make absolutely no sense not to, she just got the feeling that he wouldn't... And usually, her gut feelings weren't that far off from the truth.
By the time he re-appeared in a manner to quite efficiently almost startle her into the knife grabbing reflex, she had slipped the money under one of the pillows on his bed and had gone back to sitting the way she had been sitting before he had left. After giving her heart a second to slow to almost normal, she looked at the rather huge portions of food he had brought with him. As he held one of the plates out to her, she looked from the plate to him as if trying to figure out if he was seriously offering her that much. After a moment though, she reached out and accepted the plate.
"I owe you." She said somewhat quieter than she usually spoke, her getting more than just a bit tired of the sound of her voice.
Almost carefully, she took a bite of the sandwich before chewing it silently then having another one of her pauses. It was.... it was great! For a second, she almost showed a child-like excitement but she reigned it in quickly even if she couldn't keep herself from taking another bite followed by another as if she hadn't eaten in a long time.
"It's delicious." She told him, giving credit where credit was due.

Hopping up onto the desk, Kurt folded his legs under him and balanced his plate on there. "Nah, you don't owe me. I was hungry and it isn't cool to eat in front of your buddies without sharing, right?" This was what passed for sly with Kurt, trying to get her to admit they were buddies in a roundabout way. He did it so blatantly and cheerfully though that it really couldn't count as manipulation at all.
Tucking into his own sandwich, Kurt's mumbled "Thanks!" when Trade complimented his sandwich was heavily muffled by the food in his mouth. Which embarrassed the young man, but not quite enough to completely dampen the exuberance. He swallowed down on the big bite he'd taken, even if he had to crane his neck a little to get it down in one go. "Everyone loves the Fuzzy Dude Special!" He declared proudly. Possible with some justification, but he looked so silly preening that it was nothing more than funny.

At the mention of "buddies" she just paused in her eating for a moment and watched him for a little while. He thought of her as a buddy? They barely knew each other. Maybe this was a version of repayment to him even if he didn't say it like that? Friendship in return for him having helped her? Well, that would be a new one. But there had been a lot of new things that she had been encountering since she had arrived to Bayville and made it a place she stayed more often in. Remaining silent, she went back to eating.
As his reply to her comment on the sandwich came, she didn't even look up from the quickly disappearing meal in her hands really. By the time he had finished, so had she. The sandwich was gone and she was in one of those rare occasions where she found herself between satiated and full. Usually she didn't let herself eat so much in one sitting due to it being better to fight on a more or less empty stomach, nothing weighing her down and all.
"Everyone..." She said more to herself than out loud.
It was different being pooled in with anyone.
"Fights. It's fights." She found herself telling him for some reason.

Kurt went from preening to a look of total confusion. That just went too quickly for him. "Fights?" He asked, sounding like she'd just said something totally random.
Then realisation dawned, a little too late, as was so often the case. Kurt looked first shocked, and then compassionate. He set the plate aside and gave Trade a slow, mournful look. From how he looked at her he clearly thought she was in some way the victim, and not the perpetrator. The young mutant certainly wasn't judging her for the admission, or at least not in a negative way.
"What kind of fights? against who?" If it was against a villain or criminals or something, as Kurt was sure it was, then he was sure he could help. Maybe he could even call in the other X-Men if they needed it. In any case, he was still definitely going to help Trade.

At first, he seemed completely caught off guard when she told him the answer she had been holding back earlier. Then, it seemed to hit him after a moment and he went through a series of expressions ranging from shocked to... pity? She didn't need any pity... She had gotten herself into this mess. Then, he just looked... mournful. Like he had just heard her whole family got slaughtered or something. It was all she co9uld do to keep from shifting uncomfortably.
As he went to asking her what kind of fights it was that she had become involved in and who it was against, she just thought for a moment. It wasn't exactly easy to narrow down the whom seeing how she had a different opponent each time. After all, it was not like the dead could just come back, now was it. Then, there was the matter of how to go about telling him without there being a big deal made out of it.
"Cage-fights."
That should have been enough to answer everything if he knew what a cage fight was. If not, well that was something to think about explaining without going too far into conversing.

Cage fights....that term didn't sound good, even if Kurt didn't exvctly know what it meant. It sounded almost like she was fighting animals or something. Which wasn't an image Nightcrawler liked at all. Not for trade and not for anyone else either.
"What's a cage match?" He asked softly, his growing concern showing both in his tone of voice and in the frown he was developing. "That sounds really bad. Do you have to fight animals or something?"
Some instinct gave Kurt the feeling that he was wrong with that theory. But also that he would probably like the real answer even less. He was most definitely going to put an end to this.

He didn't know... He really didn't know what a cage fight was.Oddly enough, a part of her was kind of relieved that he didn't. It meant that he wasn't involved. That he was still, in a way, safe. Lorili was tempted to keep it that way by not telling him what really went on, but it was a bit too late for that. She got the feeling that if she didn't tell him, he would find out on his own. Asking around or searching on the internet. She was tempted.... but if he did ask around, it might being unwanted attention.
Trade barely suppressed a sigh. She really had little to no choice at this point. And she had brought herself into this mess.
"People inside a caged ring." She replied.
To keep the spectators out. To keep the fighters in. To ensure that there was no escape until the ringmaster sent in a medic to make sure that the felled opponent was truly dead and not just looking for another way out.
"We are the animals." She added in an almost too calm tone for the topic.
"You go in to fight, then you fight until either you or your opponent is dead. At least, that's how it is in most of the rings. There are a few that just make you fight until the opponent is unconscious or gives up. The winner is the one that walks out."
Possibly the longest she had kept up in talking. Most certainly the first time she had gone over the usual seven word maximum limit.

Now Kurt's expression was definitely one of total horror. That was just sick, one of the sickest things he'd ever heard of. It was even worse than how he'd been treated, and that was saying something. It was a rare sight to see Nightcrawler really angry, and Trade was the first person to see it in quite a while. "That's just wrong!" The young mutant exclaimed indignantly. Looking up at her, the otherwise cheerful boy had an expression that was as determined as he was carefree at other times. "You don't have to go back there, not ever. I'll help you get away." He declared with an air of absolute certainty that he'd do just that. What kind of an X-Man would he be otherwise?
"and we'll stop that whole thing, shut down the people doing it." He added severely when he realised that she must not be the only victim. That was just sick, especially since she was his age.

Now there was an expression she hadn't seen in a long time. And one that she hadn't seen on Nightcrawler's face up to this point. Not that she had known him for long, but he seemed very expressive so she had seen a decent range of feelings on his face. At first, he seemed horrified. Then, livid. Then a mixture of the two. She tensed for a brief moment, not having expected the shouted exclaimation from him. Wrong? Not really. Sure, it was something that happened in the darker parts of life, but it wasn't all that wrong seeing how it was one of the only ways she knew to keep the memories and nightmares at bay.
As he went to telling her that she didn't have to go back there, that he would help her get away, she held her breath as it caught anyways. What was he talking about? Did he even know? He didn't want to get tangled into this. She continued to hold her breath as he claimed that they would put an end to the whole thing. After his outburst, she slowly let the air out and went to breathing normally again even if for some reason, she felt a burning in her throat and a stinging at her eyes.
"It's just how some things go." She stated after clearing her throat.
She was trying to tell him it really wasn't all that uncommon. Well, it might have been to some people. But if you know where to look or how to find the people or places, it was all too clear to see. The signs were pretty much everywhere. It was how she got from fight to fight sometimes. It kept her from having to go to old haunts.
"And I need it." She added. "It's a strong habit."
