Remy LeBeau was but a shadow in the night, leaping from rooftop to rooftop with ease. While his staff aided him on the more difficult and lengthy jumps, Remy's natural ability did the majority of the work, never staying in one place for more then a mere fraction of a second. Whether it was just his personality, or his mutant ability to draw out energy in objects, Remy was always on the move, and became quite restless when forced to be still. Unless, of course, the heist was important enough. The only thing Remy liked more then gambling, women and jumping around on rooftops was stealing something.
Tonight's heist, however, was a special one. Remy wouldn't be walking away with an expensive jewel in his pocket, this time he'd be walking away with information. All the information that could be found on the teenage X-Men. These small jobs often annoyed Remy, but he did them anyway as Magneto was a good employer. Once he was done with this simple job, he could move onto the X-Mansion, the only building in the entire state that was actually fun to break into. Motion sensors, cameras and pressure plates just weren't a challenge the way they were back when he was a young teen.
Standing atop the city, looking out on all the glittering lights, Remy is, as always, reminded of home. The home that made full legends out of him which were told to children at night to keep them safely tucked in their beds. However, Bayville was different, in Bayville he wasn't even given a second glance. Remy was a mere shadow on rooftops that no one looked to anyway. Until, that is, he comes back down to the ground, where his red eyes seem to always have a hint of a glow, a fire that burns behind them.
Sliding down fire escapes and literally bouncing off walls, the way down was much faster then the way up, even for Remy. Every muscle fine-tuned to his surroundings, every sense alert, the only noise the Cajun gave off was the sound of the very end of his trench coat flapping in the wind. Even when landing on the ground, his boots give off no sound, his muscles all moving together in precision to prevent any injuries.
It was startling to see a man 'fall' from the sky, though no one was around at night. Bayville was a fairly small place, where people were at home by eight, eating dinner with their families and talking about the day's events. Boldly walking straight up the steps, Remy pulled the lock picks from his pocket, unlocking the doors to the school in a matter of seconds. Closing them behind him, simply to keep unwanted guests from noticing and bothering him, Remy walked the halls to the principal's office. Even for Mystique's office, the door was just as easy to unlock, though this time Remy left it open.
Taking out a small flashlight, Remy put the end in his mouth for his teeth to hold as he began to riffle through the folders in the file cabinet. Magneto's slight paranoia was amazing, wanting to know just how much Mystique knew about Xavier's children, without asking her. Though leave it to Mystique to not have those files in the normal alphabetical order. No, the X-Men had their own special place in Mystique's cabinets, along with her own minions.

It was late when Lilly left the gymnastics studio, the elf eared girl simply lost all track of time while working on her floor routine for her upcoming competition. In fact, she was still going over it in her mind as she walked out of the building in town, zipping up her coat over her gymnastics uniform as she made her way to her 97 mercury tracer. Once in the car she checked her voicemail on her cell...Of course a call from her foster mother, she should have expected that considering how late she stayed...Just a reminder to do her book report for English. She smiled as she pushed her bangs out of her face, only to have them fall right back. "Thanks mom." She said to herself as she tossed the phone into the passenger seat. She obviously couldn't read while in the car, but that wouldn't stop her from listening to the book on tape...Sure it was a shortcut, but hey, she was getting the book in her brain, and she promised herself she'd pick up where the tape left off when she got into her room. She was, however, disappointing to find she left the tape, the book, and some other important homework in her locker. With a sigh she started up the car to swing by the school to pick it up...The front door may be locked by now but she knew for a fact that the back door to the gym should still be unlocked As she pulled into the parking lot she noticed someone who definitely didn't look like a student sneaking his way on in. "Guess it was lucky I forgot my stuff after all." She said with a smirk, glancing to the gym bag on her back seat that held her Shattershot costume. (skirt, shirt and bandages on arms are hunter green, cape and hood are black, jewelry around her head, and arms are gold...the bow is made of an unknown substance, painted up like bark ) After changing and retrieving her bow and arrows from the trunk she slipped on in, following the guy to the principal's office. She silently teleported behind him. The only sound heard was the sound of her bow slightly bending as she drew an arrow back in it. "Find some interesting reading?" Of course she didn't know what was going on, she assumed she was just stopping some creeper after records of young girls, which was definitely not OK in her book.

This was meant to be a quick and easy job, in and out within an hour. Mystique already complicated it by being herself and 'hiding' the files he wanted, though she was predictable. For someone who could be anyone she wanted, she did the obvious things. It was a wonder that people didn't realize she was actually the principal. As Remy was quickly flipping through the 'mutant' files, he discovered the next issue with this mission. It came in the form of a female behind him, wielding a...bow? The sound of a bow was rather distinct, though it puzzled Remy. However, he owed a great deal to that distinctive sound, and of course his uncanny ability to figure out his surroundings. The sound seemed a fair bit below his head, so she was on the shorter side, unless she readied the bow pointing downwards of course, but that was impractical.
"Actually, I did." Looking at the group of names that he had come for, Remy boldly took the file folders and removed them from the drawer. "Tell me petite, do ya make deals wit' de devil?" Releasing the flashlight from his mouth, Remy caught it in his hand and turned to face the girl, red eyes glowing in the dim lighting as the flashlight faced towards the floor. "I have no doubt ya know how t' use dat bow dere, but even de most skilled hunters can't always bring demselves t' hunt humans. Are you de exception?"
Most people in Remy's situation would have stood frozen in fear, unsure of what to do, but Remy wasn't like that. He loved a good adrenaline rush, loved getting caught in sticky situations, it made life fun and worth living. Not to mention that he always seemed to have Lady Luck on his side. Moving around to the large leather chair behind the desk, Remy sat in it, putting his boots up on the desk as he leaned back. Shining the light at the top folder, Remy merely glanced at the name, Scott Summers, the fearless 'leader' himself.
He had no fear of the girl being there, though he was a bit annoyed about the interruption. She was young and didn't have the look of a hardened killer. Having grown up with the Assassins nearby, Remy was no stranger to cold-blooded killers, and no stranger to cheating death. If he could get away from highly trained assassins without even a scratch most of the time, this girl should prove no real problem. Besides, he did love to get a reaction out of people when he did peculiar and usually unpredictable things. "Got a name petite? I'm Remy." Looking up from the files, red eyes stared at the girl as he smiled, that charming smile that seemed to draw people in as if that was his actual power.

As Remy took the files she fired a warning shot, clipping off a small clump of hair. As the brown hair fluttered to the floor she quickly and quietly teleported to catch the bow and re-aim it. "I might be the exception, if I have to be." She answered, ignoring the first question about her making deals with the devil. She then teleported in front of him, the tip of the arrow facing between his eyes. Of course she would never shoot it, not there...The young girl knew she'd never be able to kill, but she sure as hell knew how to bluff it.
Inside she was rather impressed that he showed no signs of fear, that however did not fool her. She herself was bluffing, why not him as well. As he moved Shattershot kept the bow aimed to him, not once flinching. She practically didn't even blink, both eyes on the intruder. The second his eyes turned down to the page she fired the arrow again, this time pinning the sleeve to his trench coat to the chair.
"Shattershot." She answered when he asked for her name. "And sorry, but I can't let you leave here with those files." She added on, knowing if she had to she'd sooner destroy them before let him walk off with them. Sure, Principal Darkholm would be pissed, but they have to keep back ups somewhere, right? And it's got to be better then some creeper getting their hands on student information...
The girl readied another arrow, and in one fluid motion shot it, much like with his sleeve pinning his pants legs to the desk he propped his feet up on, 'luckily' getting fabric from both legs with one arrow. And of course she had another arrow ready and waiting to be aimed the one free hand she left him with, hand on the arrow's feathers, waiting for him to make the wrong movement. Sure, she wouldn't kill him, but she sure as hell would injure him if she had to.

The flying arrows did not deter Remy from the files, glancing at the grades. It seemed that Mr. Perfect wasn't so perfect after all. Hidden deep within his GPA was a B, such a shame too. It was the next part of the file that slightly intrigued Remy, a section with a few pictures of him. Now why on earth would a high school principal need pictures? But as always, very few knew the actual truth about Principal Darkholme. Not even a clever name. Mystique was getting soft in her old age.
"Now ya gon' make me get a new coat." Pulling the arrow from his sleeve, Remy snapped it in half, letting the two pieces fall to the ground. She was really more of an annoyance then anything else. Honestly, Magneto wanted pictures of the files, or copies even, but Remy could easily memorize the information if need be. If this girl proved to actually be a problem. "Den kill me fo' 'em."
This girl had no idea who she was pointing arrows at, and hopefully, she'd back off. Remy really didn't like having to fight women, especially ones that were still in high school. But if he had to, he'd fight back, he always did. Though Remy's powers were something that no one wanted to be on the receiving end of. Or just his combat skills in general. Everything that crossed his path was only alive because he let it stay that way. He was skilled at what he did, and the main part of that was because he never failed to retrieve an object. Provided it was actually there when he got to it of course.
Setting the files down on the floor on his side of the desk, Remy leaned forward and pulled the second arrow out of the desk, freeing his legs. "Don' mess wit' t'ings ya know not'in' 'bout. Now, ya can jus' stop dis silly game ya started, o' ya can start up dis fight an' lose. Eit'er way, de odds ain't in ya favor. So tell me, what kinda bowstring do ya use?"

"Fine." She said before releasing the arrow. Just as always she never missed, the arrow piercing his hand. "I was hoping we could settle this simply, but you did ask me to." She narrowed her eyes a bit as she shot another, this time aimed at the papers. He broke one of her arrows...arrows were like her children. Rage filtered through her as she teleported herself to the files which now had a nice hole in the center. She picked up the arrow and re-drew it along with her last 3, shooting all of them at once, each landing at a different point in the papers. 'Read em now.' She thought to herself.
"I never lose." She replied as she slipped the bow over her shoulder, it hugging tightly around her upper body. "You are more then welcome to try though." She added as she collected the arrows from the files, making sure to shred what she could as she pulled the arrows free. He really must have been a creeper...trying to charm a young girl like her...eww. She was really working on the self control tonight, she was so tempted to take him up on that offer and send an arrow right through his skull...But that would be bad karma on her, not to mention the fact she refuses to be like her birth father. "Odds are always in my favor." She stated as she stood looking very angerly at him, still pissed off that he broke one of her arrows...

The pain in Remy's hand was instant and white-hot. Sucking in air, Remy let the pain sink in for a second before he broke the arrow in half, pulling it from his hand. His hands were his money makers, and she had just shot them. Now the kid gloves were coming off. Pain only lasted so long, and wasn't even Remy's top priority anymore. She was doing her best to shred the papers, but that was only a minor inconvenience for Remy. If he couldn't read them anymore, he'd go to the computers. He wasn't as good with computers, but he had connections who could walk him through hacking the pentagon if he asked nicely...with enough money.
"Ya gon' regret dat fille." While she was so clearly focused on the papers, Remy went for the next most valuable thing in the room, her bow. Simply grabbing the tip of it, a pink glow suddenly overtook it. "S'funny ya say dat. Seems like de odds have swayed. I let go, ya bow explodes. I'm guessin' it's important, non? Now, how 'bout ya stop dis foolishness an' ya go ya own way? Less ya really wan' t' push ya luck. But dere's no way out o' dis situation, unless I fix it."

SNAP there went another of her best bows...Again, it pissed her off, but atleast his hands seemed somewhat important to him considering the fuss he made about it. He was, however, right about one thing...That bow is plenty expensive, custom made, and if it blew while she was wearing it, she'd most likely get killed. One option:
"Bows can be replaced alot easier and quicker then you think." She stated before vanishing, the only thing left to show she had even been there was her bow...Thank you luck manipulation considering how rare it is for her to leave anything in contact with her behind when she teleports.
"The odds go where I want them to go." She stated as she returned a few moments later, a new, and far less impressive looking bow in hand with an equally less impressive arrow drawn in it, the tip on the back of his neck. "This school has an archery club. There's an endless supply for me just down the hall." She stated proud of herself. "So how about this...We're both technically trespassing considering the building was closed. If, and that's a major if they can trace the shredded documents to me I'll suffer minor consequences. However, you blow up my bow, that will cause alot more damage. So how about I escort you out of here, and we pretend this never happened considering you didn't get what you came for." She offered in a calm yet very angry voice.

Of course, teleporters. Well, there was no reason not to hurt her more, she had already tried her hand at it. "I t'ink I'll risk de detention." Feeling the heat coming from the bow, Remy tossed it into the center of the room. 3...2...1 Closing his eyes at the exact moment, Remy listened to the explosion of the bow, feeling the splinters flying all around the room. He did love his powers now that he had proper control.
Lifting his head higher, Remy felt the tip of the arrow press more into his neck. He had no doubt that he'd live through the night, but if he didn't, he wasn't too worried either. For all the times he had escaped death, there had to be one day when it caught up to him. It was a fact that everyone had to die, but at the hands of this girl? That one Remy would not allow. Grabbing a handful of cards from his trench coat, Remy tossed them behind him, in front of the girl's feet. The pink cards stared face-up at the girl, buzzing with energy.
"Might wanna move, less ya don' care much fo' ya feet." Remy had experienced his explosions enough times to become almost immune to them in a way. Of course they still hurt him like any normal person, but it was a pain he was used to. Having the power to make things explode usually back-fired in some way, some time or another.

Lilly felt her heart sink a bit as she heard the explosion, but she did not flinch, knowing that she'd be safe behind him as she was. It was like something in her shattered along with the wood that made up her bow. It was a gift from her foster mother...Christmas the year after she took up archery, it had been her prized possession for years. She'd never be able to explain the loss of it.
He really knew how to push her buttons and she hated it. She hated him for what he did and at that moment she would have taken her first kill shot if he hadn't dropped those cards. Now knowing what he was capable of she knew better then to stick close to them. She bent down slightly before jumping over him with a bit of a flip over his head. As she landed she swept her foot across the ground towards his, kicking the feet out from under him. Her plan was for him to land on the cards, but that would be up to luck...wait a second, she controls luck. She concentrated on him, hard, wanting nothing more then for him to land with his back to those cards. Now would be a bad time for her luck manipulation to fail her.

Remy was hoping that the loss of her bow would not only force her to re-think some of her actions, but to throw her off her game. And on top of that, his cards did just the trick. But of course, Remy never did anything without at least three back-up plans, so when she tripped him, he did nothing to try and stop himself. Instead, he made sure that when he landed on his cards, that his ungloved fingers found them, pushing them together into a stack as he pulled the explosive energy out of them, leaving regular playing cards once more.
Red eyes looked up at the girl without a hint of emotion on his face. Like always, his mind was running through plans at lightning speed. He didn't think any faster then someone else who had carefully trained their mind, but he did know a lot of plans which he could just think up and refer back to for anything. Taking a deep breath, Remy pulled up all the extra energy he had, and then some more. From his fingertips, a pink glow spread out over the ground, moving to reach everything.
As he concentrated, the energy flowed over everything that touched the ground. The girl's shoes were just consumable by the energy. The objects were endless as the entire office took on a bright glow, the heat starting to grow uncomfortable for most people. "I ain't 'fraid o' death. De question is, are ya?"

Lilly could really do nothing to stop his actions as Remy turned the entire room into an explosive weapon. Her mind quickly raced as she thought of what she could do in a situation like this...Then she remembered what he said about his hand leaving her bow... If she could pin his hands to the ground then if she understood correctly the explosion wouldn't be able to take place.
She took 6 arrows from her supply on her back and in one fluid motion drew four of them, giving each one a slightly different aim, holding the other two in her mouth. She concentrated her luck on the now explosive shoes as she teleported about 4 feet above him where she shot the arrows, pinning his legs to the floor as well as his arms. Though the arrows went through the flesh she made sure to not hit any main arteries, she wanted to make sure if he died it would be on him.
Once the arrows were released she took the other 2 arrows and stuck them into the roof, hanging from them as she removed her shoes just before they blew, tossing them a safe distance away just in time. "Only a foolish man wouldn't fear death. Unlike yourself I have a purpose in life and people who would miss me if I were gone. But it's up to you, hmm? If this place blows I can be gone in an instant, you'll have to pull yourself free first."

Her aim was starting to get on Remy's nerves as he found himself pinned, though her plan would backfire. "Hate t' break it ta ya, but if ya wanna leave, I suggest ya leave now. Once dis explosions starts, ya don' get t' teleport away. What ya saw before was jus' a small example, some minor chain explosions. But dis one be different. It's instantaneous. Ya dead 'fore ya ever knew what hit ya. So if ya still wanna get away, go now, 'cause de longer I hold on, de more violent it's gonna get."
He couldn't hold onto anything forever. Soon the energy would get so uncontrollable that the room would explode, whether he wanted it too or not. But either way, Remy was not going to head back empty-handed. He always came through with every job, this would not be the one job where he returned with nothing.
"Eventually dis room is gon' blow sky-high, along with a good portion o' de rest o' de school. Go 'head, check de hallway, bet ya it's nice an' warm. If I'm gon' die anyway, might as well go out in style, takin' dis whole school with me. Wonder how much pressure the shrapnel will have behind it when it launches into nearby buildings an' homes. What do ya t'ink? Enough t' kill innocent people?" He wasn't a killer by nature, but Remy was like a pit bull when backed into a corner. He'd get out any way possible.

Lilly with efort pulled one of her arrows out of the celing and pointed it toward Remy's face. "Trouble is, I don't think you can really do it. Whatever you wanted those files for, you obviously wanted to be unnoticed. Blow up everything, you will be very noticed." She wasn't great at darts, but it was a chance to keep a threat to him, aiming the arrow as if it was a dart.
"You could blow this place, but you won't. You're a great bluff, but I can see that you won't." She paused as she adjusted her grip on the one arrow in he celing that was keeping her off the explosive ground. She could feel herself slipping, but she refused to let go. "My offer still stands, we both go home and and not include innocent lives in this. I really don't see you as the kind of person to murder innocent people you've never met."

Now Remy chuckled, the girl was a fool who had no idea what she had done, and to whom. "I've killed before petite. Ya know dat sayin', history repeats itself? Guess it's jus' dat time fo' me. If ya do manage t' live, which ya won't, but if ya do, de blood in on ya hands. I'd already be gone by now, peacefully, no harm done. Now people gotta die, an' it's all because ya decided t' play hero before finding out who de real bad guys are. If ya didn't notice, even with de power I have, I'm still de messenger boy. My boss, de big man, he will come back t' finish what I started, an' he will kill in cold blood. So one way o' anot'er, people are gonna die. Hope ya can live with yaself, if ya live."
By nature, Remy wasn't a killer, but he wasn't a failure either. He had no want to hurt anyone, but this girl was forcing his hand, and he would not return to Magneto empty-handed. "Ya see, I've got no family. No loved one t' miss me. No reason t' fight t' get out of here alive. What 'bout ya? Will ya family miss ya when ya dead? Well, if dey ever find out. Ya body's gon' be incinerated, no trace left. Leave ya family t'inkin' ya ran away, or worse. All because ya joined a war ya know not'in' 'bout. By de way, ya principal, she ain't what she seems. Keeps a close eye on ya mutants here. I was gonna make dose files disappear t'night, let her redo all her work. Oh, and one more t'ing, ya might as well stand on de ground." As Remy's eyes traveled up the wall, his powers did too. Every picture frame, every poster, all consumed by the eerie pink glow, until it started to cover the ceiling.
