Basic Character Information
Type: Cannon
Full name: Scott Summers
Goes by: Scott
Code name(s)/Alias(es): Cyclops
Gender: Male
Age/Birth date: August 2nd; 18 Years Old
Place of birth: Alaska
Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska
Height: 6 Foot Three Inches
Weight: One-Hundred-and-Twenty-Three Pounds
Hair: His hair is a tad longer than some, but not ‘long’ by any since of the word. It could be called shaggy and falls in various places over and around his face with the main part slightly shifted to the right. It is light brown in colour.
Eyes: In his youth they where brown, but as he matured and developed his powers, they turned red. They are a nearly perfect almond shape, though no one could no that.
Education: High School
Occupation: Student
Family: Mother: UNKNOWN; Father: Corsair; Half Brother: Havok
Criminal record/citizenship: None
Affiliation:X X-Men
General Appearance: Scott has an average build and darker than average skin. He spends a lot of time in the sun and is naturally dark. He has thin shoulders and a thin waist, due mostly to his constant exercising and practicing.
He has large, almond brown/red eyes that are constantly hidden behind his common ruby crystal sunglasses. They are of very intricate design and cost a lot. His large nose is the central focal point of his face and its prominence hides the thin red lips beneath. He has a bit of stubbly on his chin and cheeks, though he has no intention of growing a beard.
Personality: Scott is, at a heart, a very nice guy. He would do anything to protect his friends and family, even if it meant giving up his own life. He cares more for Jean and Charles than he does for anyone else in the world.
He dislikes Logan, but he is over it enough to work well with him. He enjoys the Danger Room sessions because it gives him a chance to use and hone his already mastered abilities.
He enjoys doing physical activities including martial arts of all kinds. He is a master in many forms and can out punch anyone. He has a great love of books, though he rarely gets to just sit down and read because duty always calls.
Powers: He can shoot a red laser from his eyes. Unfortunately, due to a concussion in his youth, he is unable to control it, forcing him to wear red ruby glasses or a visor at all times. Depending on the size of the aperture opening, the beams can be released in various widths, appearing in enormous bursts on rare occasions. Their effective range is approximately 2,000 ft. They have been observed to level a skyscraper, or can be focused tight enough to punch a pin hole in a dime. Cyclops' beams have are also able to reflect off certain shiny surfaces; in concert with Cyclops' intuitive sense of spatial geometry, this reflective quality of his beams allows him to bounce the beams off many different surfaces in rapid succession so as to strike a desired target from an unexpected angle. Scott is immune to the harmful effects of his own powers--his mind generates a natural psionic field which surrounds his body and is attuned to forces that keep the apertures in his eyes open.
Weaknesses:
Power Potential: Very High; Mastered
History: When Scott was a boy growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, his father, USAF Major Christopher Summers, takes the family for a flight in their de Havilland Mosquito. It comes under attack by an alien Shi'ar spaceship. As the plane goes down in flames, Scott's parents fasten him and his younger brother Alex into a parachute and push them off the plane, hoping that they would survive. Unfortunately, the parachute catches fire and Scott strikes his head upon landing. This causes brain damage to Scott, which is supposedly responsible for his inability to control his optic blasts, as well as prolonged amnesia about his childhood.
Scott spent most of his childhood in an orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska and was subjected to batteries of tests and experiments by the orphanage's owner, Mr. Milbury, an alias for the geneticist Mister Sinister, who also placed mental blocks on Scott.
When Scott is sixteen, he runs away from the orphanage, and wanders the streets. While wandering, he walks across a construction site and his head trauma activates, causing an optic beam, also causing a metal crane to fall toward an onlooking crowd. He thinks quickly unleashing a second blast that destroys the crane. The crowd thinks this is an act of violence, and forms a lynch mob. He encounters Jack O' Diamonds and battles the villain. Scott is found by Charles Xavier, who erases the crowd's memories. Xavier then asks Scott to join the X-Men, and he gladly accepts, as the first official member.
Other: I have a character that I usually play as his and Jean’s daughter. I’m not going to worry about making her now but she may come in in the future.
Sample RP: There are certain mutants in this world that can just sense people. Who know when someone is coming. Luckily, the X-Manor staff had one such mutant and, as a result, they knew of every person that came up to the school doors in search of a safe place. One of Scott’s favorite jobs was meet and greet of these ‘newbies’. Despite the fact that he was a highly ranked, powerful mutant, he still found it enjoyable to meet the new recruits who walked those large steps to the school. It wasn’t in his job description, it was something he did voluntarily.
Therefore, when this sensory mutant informed Scott that a young girl was not far from the school’s gates, he quickly headed down to meet her. He had greeted enough students to know that there was nothing to worry. As far as he knew, there hadn’t been any new sign ups so this girl either didn’t know what this school actually was, or she hadn’t been able to file an application. Either way, no student had ever been turned down from learning about their gifts and he was one of the people that taught them.
The man that did step up to the girl did so at quite a height. His six foot three inch form towered over her. He had stepped at just the right angle, blocking the sun from her face, causing his entire form to be cast in shadow. Despite his somewhat fearsome appearance, the young man wore a smile.
He held out his hand for the girl to take and lifted her to her feet. He wore a simple pair of jeans and a navy blue long-sleeved turtle-necked shirt, coupled with a simple pair of black motorcycle boots. The only thing that seamed different about him where the red sunglasses he had on. They curled around the side of his face and where incredibly intricate and detailed frames. The lenses themselves where a dark ruby red. So dark that you couldn’t see his eyes through them.
He grabbed both of the girl’s bags and started for the front of the school, motioning with his head for her to follow. Once they where a little closer to the school, he spoke. “My name is Scott Summers. I’m known as Cyclops to many of the students and the rest of the world. I teach advanced mechanics, Computer Sciences and Offensive Tactics here at the X-Manor. Come on in.”
Activity: I go back to school on the tenth but I will try to stay as active as possible.
