As would be expected from anyone with a Diva-ish personality, Kai-Ying devotes her body to being the perfect size, shape, and mass. Naturally this means her hips swerve and her skin is smooth, most times shining with a glitter she claims she was born with (figuratively of course).
Her eyes and hair are brown, which goes well with her skin tone. At times the thought of dying them has crossed Kai-Ying's mind, but she never got around to it. Her hair dangles just above her shoulder blades most times, a respectable length average when scoping her up. Her eyes remain as vibrant and sparkling as ever, some saying it is her best feature.
She partakes in exercise routines most every morning to burn off excessive weight, allowing her to maintain her womanly figure. Her skin is treated just as rigorously, giving it that light cinnamon coloration. Her hair and nails finely groomed and kept, as well as her eyelashes and lips.
Standing at 5'7" and weighing 123 pounds, she looks smaller in person. Be it to her Asian ethnicity or feminine features, Kai-Ying uses them to her advantage. Though capable of many, smaller tricks and techniques, Kai-Ying lacks the ability to last incredibly long bouts or to be as forceful as she would like. Naturally she seeks to better herself, her endurance and durability, to last longer and put more 'punch' into her attacks.
There is also the overcoming the improper usage of her powers, which results in temporary or permanent hearing loss. If able to overcome this, Kai-Ying would be able to more freely use her abilities and perhaps reach the level of talent she desires - or in her mind deserves.

Born as Yu Chiang, the only son to Liu and Mai and youngest child to two older sisters, in 1984 Chengdu, China, Chiang would live a fairly typical life in the old Shu province. It was filled with birthday parties (something received from the West), friends, and schooling. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary until Chiang entered Year Four and began to hang out more with his female classmates, something his father viewed as the boy taking an early liking to the opposite sex. Chiang's mother, while fine in the beginning, gradually began to see Chiang wanting to spend too much time with them. To make matters only more complicated, Naomi and Nayeli had been using Chiang as a living doll to try out make up and clothes on. Chiang's parents thought this may have something to do with his behavior, but according to Naomi and Nayeli Chiang had asked them if he could do it.
From the remainder of the Year Four to Year Seven, Chiang was pursuing other interests outside of sports. Deciding to become involved in Home Economics and other so-called feminine courses, Chiang did fairly well in them. Fearing that his son was homosexual, something frowned upon in Red China, Liu decided to try and push football or some other sport onto Chiang, but it did not go too well. The next step was therapy, though this came to an end when Chiang's powers manifested themselves.
Upon his 15th birthday, Chiang went to blow out his candles. Like most young teenagers, it was done in a rush of excitement and an over exaggeration. Chiang's birthday cake was knocked back by his blowing noises, but the party continued anyway with most forgetting about the incident in a few weeks. Following this Chiang would experiment with his voice, learning he could do many things, eventually realizing he could use sound in a variety of ways. This would take his mind off of what came next, his father jokingly asking what he wished for. Only pausing for a moment, Chiang told his father that he wished to be a female. Hearing this, Chiang's father had a long talk with his mother. For weeks they discussed it, eventually deciding they may be able to 'change' their son's mind with some hormone therapy. If Chiang experienced this, perhaps he would not like it and decide against fulfilling this silly notion.

Kai-Ying is capable of projecting and manipulating sound. This allows her to emit sound waves, concentrate streams of sound into tendrils or whips, and to focus them anywhere she sees fit like pockets or streams. Echolocation is also possible, as well as detecting Morse code or locating the origin of a sound. Kai-Ying has been shown to lower or heighten frequencies and pitches, or to "enhance" her own voice to make it sound superbly heavenly. This ability also permits Kai-Ying to "throw" a sound, similar to a ventriloquist, and "replace" a sound; a gunshot may sound like a duck quacking for example. Finally, by channeling sound into her own brain, Kai-Ying is able to keep out most telepaths.

Kai-Ying's Sonokinesis a double-edged sword. The potential power, while indeed impressive, continually damages her hearing as she lacks a mutant-level healing factor. The more ferocity, the more her hearing begins to break down. If too much audio energy is used, Kai-Ying's brain will experience an "overload", causing her to become permanently or temporarily deaf. This is a constant risk Kai-Ying takes, but so long as she does not do anything extraordinary constantly, theoretically she should be fine.
Her ability to block out telepaths excludes individuals such as Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, and other like-minded telepaths. Though it may give them a difficult time, trying to pinpoint her location or scan all of her thoughts.
- Stamina
Despite working out, Kai-Ying is still capable of tiring out fairly easily. She lives somewhat of a Diva lifestyle, though she does have the ability to defend herself if necessary, meaning she can hold her own for a while. The maximum amount of time before tiring varies, depending on the amount of energy used and her condition upon entering a situation. At most she could last, roughly, an hour before collapsing to exhaustion; less if she relies more so on her Sonokinesis.
